Ready Set Preschool

Our program sets your child up for success in entering the Preschool environment.  Our beautiful Sensory-Integration room and sensory rich materials are specifically used and designed to improve the sensory, motor as well as social development of each child.   Our multi-sensory program is sure to engage your child.  Your child is introduced to a more structured day and play environment through fun, developmentally appropriate, preschool-readiness activities and games.  We incorporate lots of movement, sensory and summer fun activities into our program. 

 

CHILDREN LEARN TO:

·         say goodbye and separate from parents

·         participate in an environment with a little more structure

·         communicate and play cooperatively with peers

·         use language to make their needs known appropriately

·         develop large and small muscle skills necessary within the preschool environment

·         attend, follow directions, transition and follow a routine

 

CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN COMMON PRESCHOOL ROUTINES & ACTIVITIES:

·         Circle Time (story time, singing, finger play, interaction with peers)

·       Pretend Play (finger puppets and dress up games:  encouraging clothing manipulation, social interaction and self-esteem)

·         Music and Movement (body awareness and coordination)

·         Crafts (improving fine motor skills necessary to use preschool classroom tools)

·         Hands-On Sensory Activities (painting / sand and water play / other sensory media)

·         Crayon Time (developing pre-writing readiness through drawing and coloring)

·         Gross Motor Play (obstacle courses, swinging, climbing, jumping & balancing games)

Group Instructors:

Ready-Set-Floortime groups are led by are highly expereinced Board Certified Behavior Analyst with DIR/Floortime training  Our instructors have years of experience working with children on the Autism spectrum as well as children with Sensory Processing Disorders and general developmental delays.  Our instructors are selected based on their ability to engage children and their ability to clearly communicate with parents.

 

Ready-Set-Floortime goals:

ü  Empowering parents with knowledge on how to manage difficult behavior.

ü  Learning specialized, easy to follow approaches to your child to improve play skills, attention and language

ü  Determine Sensory Integration strategies to help your child calm and connect with you and others.

ü  Learn where your child should be developmentally and select appropriate toys and games accordingly.

ü  Including your child in a group experience led by an experienced professional, geared to improving attention, transitioning, play skills and motor coordination

ü  Allowing parents the opportunity to connect with other mothers with similar experiences.

ü  One on one attention during each session and an individual meeting with each parent at the end of each group series to summarize progress and provide appropriate recommendations.
